LEE WANEK

Lee’s Drumming began in 1970 when he was 12 years old and his first drum set was delivered to his parents’ home in Two Rivers. He was inspired by the top 40 Music of the 60’s and 70’s and couldn’t wait to be a part of it. As a youth, in typical fashion, he played at local school and church dances. After high school Lee played with Local Bands in Wisconsin and Colorado, eventually moving to California with the Dave Steffen Band. They were quite successful, opening for many national headliners in the San Francisco Bay Area.

In the early 80’s, Lee played a few Tours with the Legendary St. Louis Rocker, Jules Blattner. In 1995, he was offered a position with Pork and the Havana Ducks, a Band based in Decatur, Illinois.  They were a yearly staple at the Wisconsin and Illinois State Fairs and countless Summer Festivals. Eventually Lee was drawn to the Country Music scene in Nashville.  He joined the Walton Brothers Band, appearing regularly at the Fiddle and Steel Guitar Bar on Printers’ Alley.

Finding his way back to Wisconsin, and settling in the Milwaukee area, Lee soon became the Drummer for the Doo Wop Daddies, making many local appearances. Now Lee is honored to be performing with Larry Lynne – Decades.
